Private Pilot

Description

This course is an FAA approved part 141 course available to recreational or student pilots.

In some cases, previous knowledge and experience can be credited toward the course curriculum requirements per 14 CFR 141.77 (c).

Training under 14 CFR part 61 can be provided. Custom training programs are available based on individual’s previous knowledge and flight experience.


Requirements

  • Training may commence at any age 

  • To solo, an individual must be 16 years of age 

  • To obtain a Private Pilot Certificate, an individual must be 17 years of age

  • Must read, speak, write, and understand English 

  • Student Pilot Certificate (application will be completed on the first day of training)

  • FAA 3rd Class Medical minimum

Course Details

  • Pass FAA Knowledge Exam

  • 35 hours minimum flight training

  • 36 hours minimum of ground training 

  • 12.8 hours pre and post flight evaluations

  • Pass oral/practical test conducted by an FAA designated examiner
