Course Description

The Bell 407 pilot transition course objective is to provide ground training and flight training for appropriately rated helicopter pilots in order to operate the Bell 407 helicopter in a safe and efficient manner . Each pilot will be required to meet or exceed the minimum standards set forth in the applicable FAA Standards appropriate to the grade of certificate held by the pilot.

Classroom Instruction:

Provide comprehensive coverage of aircraft systems, operational characteristics, operating limitations, performance, and a review of applicable portions 14 CFR Part 91.

Initial:  20 hours

Flight Training:

Provides the customer with demonstration and performance of normal maneuvers and emergency procedures of the helicopter.

Emergency procedure training includes touchdown autorotations, hydraulic-off landings, In aircraft FADEC malfunctions with manual throttle, and anti-torque system failure procedures.

Initial:  5 hours

Completion Standards:

To complete a course of instruction, each maneuver shall be performed at or above those standards as stated in the FAA Standards for the level of certificate held. Upon satisfactory completion of all course requirements, a Certificate of Completion will be issued. In addition, a 14 CFR Part 61.56 Flight Review may be provided.
